	Vartan Ter-Avanesyan was born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1955. He earned his MFA in Graphic Arts from the Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1982. Shortly thereafter, in 1989, Vartan took a leap of faith and made the move to the United States of America. His creations will captive any audience. He has illustrated books for major publishing houses such as Simon & Schuster, Philomel Books/Penguin Random House, and Barnes & Noble as well as independent authors.
